By: Flagler Habitat for Humanity “Owning a Habitat home will finally give my children and me the chance to start our lives; a stable and secure home is all I've wanted for them and now we finally have it,” says new homeowner, Chastity Santiago. Lindsay Elliott, Executive Director of Flagler Habitat, adds, “It is so exciting to be a part of a movement that makes such a positive impact in the lives of people in our community and around the world. Our partner families work hard for their home, putting in a minimum of 250 hours of “Sweat Equity” and homeowner education classes. Our homeowners purchase their homes at full price for a 0% interest mortgage. We are proud of the homes we build and having the opportunity to create the ‘American Dream’ of home ownership for a family in need.” As always, the public is welcome to join in the celebration and wish the new homeowners well.
