TORONTO - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- There was a strong presence of Canadian Bitcoin enthusiasts at the Bitcoin 2013 Conference in San Jose, California earlier this month, many of whom will form the core membership and development team of the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada (BAC), a group dedicated to promoting Bitcoin. There were over 50 Canadian attendees at the conference, and over 25 attended the Canadian meetup held on the second day of the event. "San Jose was a great meeting point for Canadians. I've been in communication with many of the attendees over the past few weeks, and it was nice to finally meet them face-to-face, to discuss the early stages of the BAC," stated founding member Anthony Di Iorio. Since the meetup, the Alliance has been focusing on a final search for candidates to add to the core team responsible for forming the board. "We're almost there," continues Di Iorio, "this will be a last call for those interested in being considered for a board position. Once it is established, the addition of specialized advisory roles will continue," founding member Di Iorio explains.

The blueprint the BAC is formulating is something that could be successfully translated to other countries. The formula tackles the needs every country would have when it comes to promoting Bitcoin in the media, while also providing assistance and resources to merchants looking to start accepting Bitcoin, and to the general public regarding this new Internet currency. The BAC will also provide an example of organized and efficient methods of reaching out to the banking sector and government bodies as Bitcoin gains prevalence.

A new website and official logo for the BAC is in the works, as well as talks of a Canadian Bitcoin Conference. The focus currently is adding to the base of professionals and enthusiasts, to both broaden the perspectives and talents the BAC offers, and provide the Alliance with a strong base of support. New members will find themselves immersed in an extraordinary community, full of the best and brightest minds ready to achieve the goal of promoting Bitcoin in Canada.

Anyone who wishes to join the BAC can fill out this involvement form. For media requests, and for general inquires, please contact the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada.
