SYDNEY - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- May, 2013 -  Solving a very ‘first world’ problem of working out where to go for lunch (or breakfast or dinner), app community incubator The AppVillage is pleased to announce the launch of FoodFriendzie – The one-click app that helps you decide on the best spots for lunch, dinner or just a coffee in your neighbourhood!

Launching in the Apple AppStore on May 5th and powered by word-of-mouth review portal Yelp, FoodFriendzie provides a fun way for locals, or out of town visitors to find and decide on which new cafe, restaurant or venues from a mix of random venues and known favourites. Through a coloured roulette-style wheel, users ‘take a spin’ to find and decide on a nearby venue for their next dining experience whilst tapping into the wealth of Yelp user reviews for cafes, restaurants and dining establishments across the globe.

Yelp is the worlds leading community fuelled reviews and recommendation service, with yelpers having written more than 36 million local reviews across the globe* by the end of Q4, 2012, making the service the perfect tool to power FoodFriendzie’s eating options for the roving foodie or professional needing an eating destination that will impress.

“Choosing your next eating venue can be stressful. With infinite choice comes great responsibility. Coming up with that perfect place to suit your posse’s eating desires can be difficult and indecision can waste time and may even cause arguments between friends, families or colleagues,” says Steve Fanale, AppVillage CEO. “Mark Jordan, a member of our AppVillage community came up with the FoodFriendzie concept to solve this modern day dilemma. Mixing the luck of random selection, wheel curation and the wisdom of community reviews FoodFriendzie delivers a user experience that makes the choice of a restaurant or café simple and fun”.

Users start off with a localised random Friendzie wheel after downloading. From here they can either choose to try their luck or customise their wheel with favourite venues, specific to places where they live, work and play. For users that travel or like to discover different cuisines or local areas, additional “wheels” can be saved and shared with friends on social networks, or posted to user’s personal blog sites and web spaces, increasing the user’s “culinary kudos” amongst friends. After a spin, users can go with the suggested choice, ban it from appearing again, add it to their favourite places or “Spin” again to come up with another option. Finding and deciding on great places to eat just became a lot more fun!

FoodFriendzie** is the second major project from app community incubator The AppVillage, the unique community of app developers, investors and idea generators who collaboratively build, launch and market great apps. The FoodFriendzie Village will now all share in the royalties generated by the app, in return for their “sweat equity” investment in bringing this idea to life.

FoodFriendzie launches via the Apple App store on May 5th and will be available in the 20 countries*** that support Yelp.
