The Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) was founded in 2004 with the intention of representing all professionals working in the urgent care industry. Today, the UCAOA has nearly 6,400 members from more than 2,600 clinics throughout the United States, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Mexico and New Zealand. The UCAOA created the Certified Urgent Care program (CUC) in 2009; since the program’s inception it has certified nearly 500 centers nationwide. Those urgent care facilities with the CUC designation are distinct from non-certified facilities, and have gained access to clinical and practice management via conferences, self-study, fellowships and a subscription to the monthly Journal of Urgent Care Medicine.
