PRINCETON, N.J. - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- On June 12, the New Jersey Entrepreneurial Network (NJEN), a non-profit organization providing educational and informational services to entrepreneurs and investors, will host its annual “A Gathering of Angels” from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Princeton Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at Forrestal in Princeton, N.J. The “reverse venture fair” event will give local entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet with representatives of 10 major angel investor groups, and, again this year, as many as 15 new start-up companies will be selected to exhibit their businesses before and after the meeting.

According to NJEN, the organization of angel groups is a relatively recent development. Angels have become easier to find, and these groups enable the investors to pool their resources and invest more money in a greater number of deserving start-ups. NJEN has now made the angel groups easier to find by organizing a roundtable discussion featuring representatives of regional angel groups. The event will use NJEN’s unique "reverse venture fair” format, during which attendees will be able to meet individually with each of the representatives. Participants are even encouraged to bring their businesses’ executive summaries for review.

To participate, NJEN asks that a poster submission be sent via email no later than June 7. The email should include presenters' names, the company/organization, poster title, and a brief abstract describing the business, funding request, and use of proceeds (150 words or less). Posters can be up to 30 inches by 40 inches and must be on foam core. If selected, posters must be available by 11:30 a.m on June 12. Easels will be provided. For submission, please respond to Randy Harmon (rgharmon@njsbdc.com). If selected, applicants will be notified by email on a rolling basis from June 1 to June 7.

Moderated by Randy Harmon of New Jersey Small Business Development Centers, the panel will consist of several of the region’s leading angel groups, including Jeffrey Snellenburg of Delaware Crossing Investor Group (www.delawarecrossing.org); Tom Sullivan of Innovation Garden (www.innovationgardennj.com); Katherine O'Neill of Jumpstart NJ Angel Network (www.jumpstartnj.com); Yaniv Sneor of Mid Atlantic Bio Angels (www.bioangels.net); Mario Casabona of TechLaunch (www.techlaunch.com); and Bert Navarrette of Tiger Labs (www.tigerlabs.com). Members of Pennsylvania Angel Network (www.paangelnetwork.com), Mid-Atlantic Angel Group Funds (www.magfund.com), New York Angels (www.newyorkangels.com), and Robin Hood Ventures (www.robinhoodventures.com) will also be present.

The event is sponsored by the Law Offices of Robert D. Frawley (64 Maple Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960). Supporting organizations include Einstein's Alley, Innovation NJ, the New Jersey Business Incubator Network, the New Jersey Institute of Technology Enterprise Development Center, the New Jersey Small Business Development Center (Rutgers), the New Jersey Technology Council, the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Consulting Consortium International.

“A Gathering of Angels” will be held June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Princeton Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at Forrestal (100 College Road East) in Princeton, N.J. Cost is $45 per person, pre-registered and pre-paid by 5 p.m. by June 7, or $55 at the door. A full buffet lunch and dessert will be provided. Pre-register by credit card at www.njen.com or by check mailed to NJEN, 11 Honey Lake Drive, Princeton, N.J., 08540.
