NACOGDOCHES, Texas - May 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Trey Watson, Texas-based gardening book author, recently announced the release of a new gardening book about growing native fruit and nut plants in the southeastern United States.  The book, entitled Southern Bounty: How to Grow and Enjoy Southeastern Native Fruits and Nuts, is currently available on Amazon as a Kindle ebook or as a full color print book.

"I wanted to write something that gave people insight into how to grow plants that have disappeared from most gardens," Watson said.  "Even with all the new varieties of fruit trees that are available, there is really nothing better than a native tree grown with just a little TLC that produces fruit for decades."

Watson is also the owner of a fruit tree nursery, Legg Creek Farm, LLC, and he said it was his own interest in native fruit and nut trees that lead him to rediscover and grow the fruit, nuts, and berries included in this book.

The book provides details on growing, care, propagation, harvesting, and preserving more than a dozen food-producing plants that are native to the southeastern corner of the United States.  "I'm from East Texas, which is where the southeastern U.S. really ends, so these are the plants that I grew up with," Watson said.

Southern Bounty: How to Grow and Enjoy Southeastern Native Fruits and Nuts is available from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CTSAEVQ.
