Warren G. and Tami Roman Join forces with the Boys & Girls club to present the 2nd Annual Celebrity Prom Pop-up Shop

LOS ANGELES - May 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Celebrities team up the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach to make teens dreams come true by giving away prom attire and a complete makeover! LOS ANGELES – Legendary West Coast artist Warren G. and Tami Roman of Basketball Wives, team up together to address a need in the community. Celebrity Prom Pop-Up Shop will give away dresses, suits, make-overs and more to kids. Warren G. and Tami Roman join with celebrity friends to education young teen students about the importance of resisting prom peer pressure. Celebrity Prom Pop-Up Shop will consist of a celebrity panel that will provide a free make over for teens, prom gear and discuss teen related prom issues. This event will also educate teens about the importance of abstinence, prom peer pressure, and protecting their self if they choose to not wait. The discussion will deal with the everyday issues of teens and attempt to bring them into a positive, uplifting light and motivate and prepare them for the prom. “When I was a kid running wild in Long Beach California, no one really took the time to educate me on the peer pressures of prom and how one decision on that special day can affect the rest of your life. I not only want to help these kids look fly for prom but I want to educate them on life after prom.” -Stated Warren G. Between tickets, attire, makeover, shoes, accessories, flowers, limousines, photographers and after-parties, the average family with a high school student attending the prom spent a whopping $807 this year, according to a recent survey by Visa. But nearly a quarter of families spent nothing at all -- because they could not afford to let the kids go. "Some people are opting out entirely because times are tight and the social cost of admission is so high now”. The Celebrity Prom Pop up shop was designed to assist hundreds of teens yearly with sponsored and personally donated prom gear for the families and teens that cannot afford it.
