The virtual store will showcase the company's innovative imuDERM range of bio-functional clothing that combines moisture management and temperature regulating capabilities with contemporary style and design.
Historically, garments for eczema sufferers have been made from cotton. However, the rough fibres and poor temperature regulation properties can often irritate skin.
Through a process of detailed consultation with clinicians and patients, Clinidirect has harnessed technological advances in yarn and manufacturing processes to bring a new solution to the market, which is softer and kinder on skin.
With a RRP some 30% lower than similar products on the market, it also offers attractive value for money, without sacrificing quality and comfort.
Clinidirect Marketing Executive Rishi Doshi said: "The launch was a direct response to worrying statistics showing an increase in the prevalence of allergic disorders, including atopic eczema and dermatitis."
He added: "The demand for imuDERM clothing has never been greater, with 12-15% of all school-age children currently affected by eczema.”
"Our garments offer a discreet, yet effective alternative to tubular bandages for the management of skin conditions like this, all of which are machine washable and are available in a range of colours."
The range launches this week (07/05/13) and caters for children from birth up to 12 years of age. imuDERM baby wear products include mitten options on body suits and built-in foot socks on leggings.
Notes to Editors
Clinidirect.co.uk also sells grip bandages, travel products and medicines through the website’s online pharmacy.
Clinidirect.co.uk is owned by CliniSupplies Ltd, manufacturer of medical devices to primary and secondary healthcare providers in the UK. With a manufacturing plant in Oldham, we have designed and made garments for the medical sector for over ten years.
Our imuDERM range is made from fabric that shares similar qualities to medical grade silk including smooth fibres and moisture/temperature regulation. ImuDERM clothes help to prevent the "triggers" to eczema symptoms from occurring by creating an occlusive barrier and soothing the skin. The addition of an antimicrobial agent prevents bacteria from coming into contact with the wearer's skin.
