Why Is It That The NHS Will Collapse?

Mr Lamb, the Minister of State for Care and Support, stated that Britain's system of health and social care is becoming “dysfunctional” and could “buckle under the pressure” unless radical changes are made to the way it operates.

WITNEY, U.K. - May 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Mr Lamb said the NHS and social care system was under "huge pressure" from an ageing population, with high numbers suffering complex and chronic conditions and that tackling it was "the challenge of the 21st century".

The trouble the medical system has with regard to chronic illness is that it treats symptoms instead of causes. Society needs to approach chronic illness in the same way medicine treats trauma; if someone has had an accident and is covered in blood, the obvious thing to do is find the source of the bleeding. As soon as the source of bleeding has been found, any dirt or debris is removed from the wound. Pressure is then applied to the wound to until the bleeding has stopped. This is a common sense approach to the problem that is effective. Blood transfusions and stitches could follow this obvious first stage.

When it comes to treating chronic illness, all common sense seems to evaporate. Looking for the true cause of a chronic illness seems to be totally taboo. This is incredibly short sighted and can be compared to not looking for the source of bleeding in trauma cases.

In the world of chronic illness, if the source of the problem is suspected, facing the problem is not allowed as it may be too uncomfortable. This is again incredibly stupid and can be compared to not applying pressure to a bleeding wound as it may hurt!

If we applied the current wisdom of treating chronic illness to treating trauma we would all bleed to death. No one would look for the source of the bleeding, and if per chance the source of the bleeding was discovered no one would apply pressure to the wound as it would be deemed too painful. Instead we would just be given blood transfusions until the dirt and debris in the wound removed itself and the bleeding eventually stopped naturally.

There seem to be at least two reasons for this current insanity:

•   First of all, physicians are trained to treat physical problems and most chronic illness starts in the subconscious mind.
•   Secondly, treating the symptoms of chronic illness is very profitable. Patients become annuities and the pharmaceutical companies and medical practitioners benefit by a lot of repeat business. There’s not much incentive for change from these quarters.

The trouble is that this system has become too expensive. The people that have the chronic illnesses can no longer afford to pay for treatment and the people that have not yet manifested the symptoms of chronic illness are not willing to pay.

As Mr Lamb pointed out, radical change is needed. Either we as society take the initiative to make these changes from the ground up or the changes will be thrust upon us, but change will occur.

The most effective method of treating chronic illness once its symptoms begin to manifest is regression hypnosis. Using regression hypnosis, a skilled hypnotherapist is able to trace the subconscious cause of the chronic illness and treat it with a process that can be compared to treating physical trauma.

At the moment, regression hypnotherapy isn’t even part of the NHS system. Is this evidence of protectionism by the medical establishment or ignorance of the merits of regression hypnosis? Whatever the reason for this travesty, you’re one paying for it. How sure are you that the next generation will sponsor your chronic illnesses once you’re too old to pay your own way?
