Tails from The Cat Doctor Reality TV Show Teaches Cat Owners How to Examine Their Cats at Home

How do you know if your cat is sick before the signs are obvious? A new episode of the "Tails from The Cat Doctor" reality television series serves as a tutorial for cat parents to learn how to detect even the smallest of changes in their cats.

ARDMORE, Pa. - May 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Do you know what healthy cat eyes look like? Do you know how your cat's ears should look? How about his mouth and his tail, or even his feet, toes and nails? In a special how-to episode of the “Tails from The Cat Doctor” internet reality television series, Dr. Shelby Neely, known as "The Cat Doctor" from her award-winning website AskTheCatDoctor.com, walks cat parents through the simple things to look for to determine whether their cats are healthy or not.

Although this cat video series generally follows Dr. Neely and her technicians on house calls throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, this must-see episode is presented as more of a tutorial for cat parents. This highly-anticipated episode was created based on visitor feedback from Dr. Neely’s article entitled “Cat Illnesses: Symptoms to Watch For”, a written tutorial that helps you better understand your cat’s anatomy and the things that one observes in their cat every day.

As Dr. Neely explained on her radio show: “We devote this episode to one of the very most important things you can do for your cat, which is to know how to do a mini vet exam at home. It’s something you need to do because you’ll detect problems earlier, and as I always say, you’ll get to the vet earlier, get a diagnosis earlier, start treatment earlier, and ultimately save money, heartache, and pain, and maybe even loss of life.”

Dr. Neely answers questions from cat parents all over the world through her website and social media, and unfortunately, many of the questions are ones where a serious cat illness symptom has been noticed when it has already progressed past the point of being treated easily and efficiently. The other category of questions falls into people just not knowing when something is an emergency. This new episode of “Tails from The Cat Doctor” is sure to help all cat parents make quicker and easier decisions about their cats’ care.

Dr. Neely went on to explain: “Most often people notice [cat illness symptoms] too late. The way to catch something early is to be looking and not just waiting until something stares you in the face. If you get in the habit of examining your cat, you’ll get so good at it that it’ll take you 5 minutes or less, and you can detect many  problems early when they have the best chance of being successfully treated!”
