MOORPARK, Calif. - May 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Widely considered one of the top 'runs' in the area, the Arroyo Creek 1/2 Marathon will bring over 1000 to the event on Sunday, August 11, 2013.  Simi Valley's beauty, extreme hills and the well-maintained arroyo, (stream or brook,) have helped the dynamic group of the Loving Heart Hospice Foundation, to share with local families financial support. This support is for medical needs, home care, hospice care or funeral expenses to those with low income or financial needs, so that they have ‘quality of life at the end of life.’

Created in 1994, Tender Loving Care Home Hospice, (a local business owned and operated by two incredible, caring business women) found that many terminally ill patients in our communities, could not afford the daily essentials at the end of life.  Fulfilling their mission, Mary Jo Leste & Shelley Chilton, designed the 'Loving Heart Hospice Foundation,' so that donors could make a significant impact in the local community find a high degree of personal fulfillment.

“Jump high, leap far, run fast…as our ‘Mascot-‘Farley the Frog’ says...to get in this incredible marathon and make a difference to someone that is battling for the quality of life, at the end of life!’ says Executive Director, Rebekah Evans, ‘We appreciate your support!’

As the Foundation’s primary funding comes from individual gifts and grants from public and private donations and annual events, such as the ‘Arroyo Creek ½ Marathon,’ which brings a new level of 'healthy living,' to the fundraising.  The run provides those registered to participate in a 5k or10k track that allows runners to be next to the water while enjoying the beauty of the wildflowers, and chaparral of Southern California.

Local 'healthy living businesses,' will be on hand in our small Expo at the beginning of the run. To learn more on sponsorship, booth space or to register for the run--go to www.ArroyoCreekHalf.com or call: 805-222-4673 today!
