TORONTO - May 23, 2013 - PRLog -- TORONTO - On Wednesday May 29, Salt + Light will give viewers the opportunity to view the documentary film A New Leaf free of charge on the Salt + Light website.

In the summer of 2012, a food crisis struck West Africa in a region called the Sahel. Salt + Light Television’s Kris Dmytrenko travelled to Niger to learn about the crisis. Why was it happening? What were Nigeriens doing about it? And how was the world trying to help? Dmytrenko witnessed the efforts of Caritas Niger, a Catholic development organization endorsed by the local bishops. Their projects were supported by the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

A New Leaf will also air on Salt + Light Television the same day at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
