Workshop Information

Sand Painting

This is a two-hour workshop and includes teaching how to use the same techniques the monks use to create a sacred sand mandala. The class will be taught on the floor, so please bring a piilow.

Sand painting is an ancient Tibetan art form thought to have originated in India and transferred to Tibet in the middle ages. The sand mandala is constructed as a vehicle to generate compassion, realize the impermanence of reality and social / cosmic healing of the environment.
