Follow on Google News | Book late to get the best bargains? No! Book early and save £2000!For many years people have come to believe that by booking late, you get the cheapest deals. But that is no longer the case with the way that the no frills airlines set prices. Now, by planning well head, you can save thousands of pounds.
By: Travel Dog PR This has led to huge swathes of the general public believing that the best way to bag a holiday bargain was to take a gamble and wait until the last minute to book – but all that has changed with the introduction of the no frills airlines who dominate the short haul routes and are used by many tour operators. Companies like Easyjet raise fares dramatically for flights departing at short notice; but by booking up to a year ahead, a family of four can save over £2000 on a week’s holiday. Here is an example from Fleewinter, a fully-bonded member of The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO). A one week family holiday to Morocco for this half term, departing on 25 May 2013, with accommodation in a two-bedroom private villa at the luxurious Rebali Riads complex on the Atlantic coast, costs from £1150 pp with flights from Gatwick to Marrakech. It includes private return transfers and 7-nights’ accommodation (4 sharing, B&B basis). The same holiday, booked now for departure on 26 October, also for half term, costs from £875 pp. The same holiday, booked now for half term departure on 15 February 2014, costs from just £565 pp. This means a saving of over £2000 for a family of four people, providing they book well in advance (enough for another holiday).
