Dublin in Song and Story- A Musical Performance with Tom O'Carroll

In this lively program, Tom O’Carroll will entertain the audience with captivating tales and rousing traditional songs of his native Dublin. At the Oliver Wolcott Library on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 7:00- 8:30 p.m.
 
LITCHFIELD, Conn. - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- In this lively program, instrumentalist, folklorist, and folk-singer Tom O’Carroll will entertain the audience with captivating tales and rousing traditional songs of his native Dublin.  This capital city on the River Liffey has a rich cultural heritage that can trace its origins back to the Vikings more than 1,000 years ago.  In this performance, Tom will enchant audience members with the music of his guitar, tin whistle, and the bodhrán (Irish drum) and share a wealth of stories of Ireland’s most colorful characters with his appealing wit and humor.

Tom O’Carroll is a graduate of University College, Dublin, and taught elementary school in Ireland before becoming a full-time musician 25 years ago.  He has played at concerts, festivals, colleges, libraries and pubs all over the United States, Canada, Ireland and Seoul, South Korea.  His website is www.tomocarroll.com/.
