Catalina Island’s Descanso Beach Club Unveils Presidential Cabanas

LOS ANGELES - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- AVALON, SANTA CATALINA ISLAND, CALIF.—The Santa Catalina Island Company is announcing the completion of three new luxurious presidential cabanas on the waterfront that are now available for daily rentals at the Descanso Beach Club. In addition to the presidential cabanas, the Island Company has expanded the white sand beach at Descanso to accommodate additional standard cabanas and additional chaise longues, all part of Descanso Beach Club’s ongoing $6 million renovation project.

Each presidential cabana accommodates up to six guests and is furnished with teak tables and chairs, chaise longues, beach chairs, refreshing Oshibori towels, bath robes, a refrigerator, TV and use of an iPad with complimentary WiFi. A personal concierge fulfills guests’ needs from Descanso’s beach bar and delivers refreshing amenities throughout the day.

Scheduled for completion in 2014 are Descanso Fresh, a gourmet espresso bar and ice cream shop, as well as new retail stores.

The high season at Descanso Beach Club, which is privately owned and open to the public, kicks off Memorial Day weekend and extends through the end of October. It serves as Southern California’s only beach where lunch, refreshments and cocktails can be served and enjoyed on the sand.

Descanso is also a great spot for beach night life. Relaxing beachside massages can be booked through the concierge. In addition to sunbathing and dining by the sea, activities at Descanso Beach Club include Sea Trek undersea adventure, a Zip Line Eco Tour on five different zip lines, a 32-foot-high climbing tower, stand-up paddleboard rentals, kayaking and snorkeling in crystal-clear, pristine water.
