An ethicist with broad experience in law, finance, and community service to start June 1, 2013

ROCKPORT, Maine - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Rockport, ME - The Institute for Global Ethics announced today the appointment of Anthony J. Gray, an ethicist with broad experience in law, finance, and community service, to become the Institute's new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2013.

"This appointment positions the Institute to move forward building upon the legacy of our founder, Dr. Rush Kidder, to advance its mission "to provide practical tools to build ethical fitness and cultures of integrity at home, at school, in the workplace, and in society," said Paul McAuliffe, Chairman of IGE's Board of Directors. "Anthony Gray brings an outstanding record of success and experience that will enable him to provide the executive leadership to guide the Institute forward," he said.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with IGE's Board and staff to extend the reach and impact of the Institute's work," said Mr. Gray. "Every day we see evidence of the need to improve ethical skill sets and moral courage among individuals and institutions throughout the world, which led to the creation of the Institute over twenty years ago."

Most recently, Mr. Gray served as the Global Compliance Officer at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation where he led the ethics and compliance infrastructure for the company around the world. Mr. Gray holds a Master's degree in ethics from the Yale Divinity School, and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin.

This appointment culminates a transition process which began upon the sudden passing of Dr. Kidder in March, 2012. Since that time, the Institute developed a new three-year strategic plan, under the leadership of John Corwin, the Interim Executive Director, which focuses on six strategies: focus, responsiveness, impact, innovation, visibility, and sustainability. Mr. Corwin was engaged by the Board of Directors to help guide the organization during the past year. The firm of Phillips Oppenheim conducted the search for IGE's new President.
