By: taj salon & spa BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- taj salon & spa is pleased to announce that its annual fashion show-fundraiser taj modé 2013 will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the salon’s Brooklyn Park location (9744 Schreiber Terrace, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota). All proceeds from taj modé 2013 will go to the Twin Cities-based nonprofit Pay It Forward Fund. Founded in 2005, Pay It Forward Fund helps patients pay their bills while undergoing chemotherapy for breast and women’s cancers.
“We’ve chosen Pay It Forward Fund as this year’s charity to help longtime stylist Melissa Coleman’s mother,” says Jeanne Strandin, one of the taj salon & spa owners. “She was in remission from breast cancer until recently, when it came back with a vengeance.” Style Consultant Alice Sydow from I’ve Got Your Style will emcee the program, which will feature taj boutique clothing designs and the artistry of taj salon & spa beauty experts. The event will also feature live music, swag bags to the first 100 in the door, and a silent auction. Judges from Aveda, Pureology, and L'Oreal will be on hand to vote for best overall look. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the evening of the event. Advance tickets may be purchased online or by calling 763.416.7775. The salon also participated in the Wella Charity Challenge to raise additional funds. The Wella Charity Challenge, called Hairdressers at Heart, invites salons across the country to nominate a nonprofit and to get votes for the opportunity to win up to $10,000 for the nonprofit.
