ACCA Pakistan's Foundation Diploma Launch Ceremony

ACCA launches new award for aspiring finance professionals at launch event in Karachi:

A new award called the Foundation Diploma is launched in Pakistan on 9th May by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). The Foundation Diploma provides essential knowledge and skills for those students who have completed Intermediate, Matriculation or O ‘levels and a clear entry route onto ACCA’s main accountancy qualification called the ACCA Qualification. The new ACCA Foundation Diploma has seven exams plus the Foundations in Professionalism online module. A launch ceremony in this regard was held at Marriott, Karachi on 21st May 2013 which was a huge success.

Stuart Dunlop, Regional Director MENASA, Rehan Uddin, Head of ACCA Karachi and Dr. Afra Sajjad, Regional Head of Education MENASA were present at the event. The speakers at the launch included Muhammad Shehzad Yousaf, Deputy CFO, Karachi Electric Supply Company and Mr. Imtiaz Jaleel, Commercial Manager Supply Chain Finance, Unilever Pakistan Limited. Both emphasized the need for a strong foundation from employment, career and learning perspective and endorsed the new Foundation Diploma as a great opportunity for aspiring finance professionals. Key note Speaker, Nasir Bhatty, Director Operations Exams, British Council spoke about the ACCA examination system and the role British Council plays in maintaining integrity of ACCA examinations. The total key stakeholders of 160 at the event included employers, approved learning partners of ACCA, Career Counselors from Schools and colleges and media.
