The Enterprise Mobility Strategy Dilemma: Prioritize Your Objectives or Waste Budget

By: IBRS

May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Sydney: Independent research firm IBRS says Australian organizations need to demonstrate the capability to identify and prioritize mobility objectives.

The research firm based its recommendations on 4 years of direct experience in establishing mobility strategies for both public and private sector organizations in Australia. Failure to set objectives results in wasted effort and money. Having a clear framework for developing a mobility strategy is vital.

The advice is contained in a public whitepaper titled, “Building a Sustainable Enterprise Mobility Strategy” which was released today.

The Sustainable Mobility Methodology provides a step-by-step approach to developing an enterprise mobile strategy which not only identifies quick wins, but also frames these in the context of longer term goals and IT architecture.

“The biggest mistakes organisations make is treating mobility as a set of individual and ultimately disconnected projects. This is not only more expensive than having an enterprise approach to mobility, but also leads to significant complexities and challenges in the future,” says author, IBRS advisor, Mr Joe Sweeney.

The white paper outlines a proven methodology that can be adopted by IT executives when developing specific mobile strategies for their organisations.

Mr Sweeney explained, “Creating a mobility strategy must take into account the dramatic shifts in consumerisation and influences of BYOD. It needs the balance those external trends with the organizations internal interests.”
