DEAD DROP Shakes Up the Cannes Film Festival

Described as "Fast-paced intrigue that leaves you wanting more" "Dead Drop," a cross between "The Usual Suspects" and "The Bourne Identity," is now screening at the Cannes Film Festival in the Short Film Corner.

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. - May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- "Dead Drop" was conceived and produced as proof of concept for a feature, now in development.  It stars Golden-Globe nominee Brian McNamara and Basil Hoffman from last year's Academy-Award winning film "The Artist" and introduces Nick Liam Heaney, a former pro wakeboarder, X-Games Champion-top 10 in the World, who has turned his sights now to film.  Says one reviewer, "Nick Liam Heaney is the next James Bond."  Writer/Producer/Director Kathi Carey agrees.  "I had no intention of making another short film," says Carey, "I had already done that quite successfully with my last short, "Worth."

Indeed.  Kathi's film "Worth" screened at 31 festivals and won 31 awards, was in the pool of short films to be nominated for an Academy Award in 2011 and is now available at IndieFlix.  But, according to Kathi, "Nick can be very persuasive."

And that, according to another reviewer, can only be considered a good thing as, "Dead Drop is Aces!"

They are currently fielding investment offers for the feature.  More information can be found at http://www.Carey-it-Off.com
