A New York artist influenced by Josephine Baker, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchel, The Beatles and the 60 and 70's Pop art fashion, Singer/Songwriter Minnie Dee makes music that combines fun, up-tempo party grooves and positive messages and lyrics, wild theatrics, and sassy soulful vocals.  Minnie Dee is a tour de force as at the age of 16, she toured the world with the Dance Theater of Harlem, and went into acting shortly after returning from touring.  Within months of auditions, she landed a national commercial directed by Spike Lee, and a role in a film "Black and White" featuring Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr, which was written and directed by James Toback.  It was after college Minnie Dee caught the music bug, and began performing at open mic nights through out NYC.  It was after singing back up singer for "Mike Sandwich", Minnie gained the confidence to record her debut CD "Time To Shine" with producer Riley McMahon (Spottiswoode and His Enemies).  It is with all the wonderful news this past year, that Minnie Dee is hard at work on her next EP, to be released in fall 2013.
