Follow on Google News | Socially-Conscious Accessories Line Set to Launch with Knottiest Event of the YearKnotty Gal Accessories debuts its first collection at SoHo’s Pop International Galleries
By: Knotty Gal The collection, designed by the duo and hand-crafted by Nur-E Gulshan Rahman, incorporates intricate knots into its bold, colorful, and one-of-a-kind statement pieces. Each of Knotty Gal’s necklaces, bracelets, and earrings is made from a combination of carefully selected cords and metals to produce a modern take on classic knots. Delightfully “knotty” by nature, the line is equally as “nice” in purpose. Knotty Gal is the result of the founders’ desire to raise funds for the Bhandari Girls’ School in Bogra, Bangladesh. Founded in 1962 by Nur-E Farhana’s great- grandfather, the institution was the first all-girls school in the region. Today, the student body has swelled to over 1,000 girls, approximately 90% of whom come from extreme poverty. A portion of all proceeds from Knotty Gal sales goes directly to the school. "My mother and I are beyond thrilled to finally launch Knotty Gal,” says Nur-E Farhana Rahman. “This endeavor has truly been a labor of love and we've put our heart and soul into making beautiful accessories we can be proud of, for a cause we deeply care about. We're really excited to start this journey so that we can hopefully make a difference in the lives of these young girls." Adds Nur-E Gulshan,“We put so much love and attention to detail into each and every single piece we make. My daughter and I are excited not only to finally unveil our full collection but also to share the stories of the resilient girls who we are doing this for.” The event will take place between 6 and 9 PM, and highlights of the evening include complimentary sips, bites, Knotty giveaways, and a 10 percent discount on all Knotty Gal accessories. Artwork in the gallery will also be available for purchase, including pieces by world-renowned artist, musician, and photographer Arno Elias. A percentage of art sale proceeds will benefit the Bhandari Girls’ School, thanks to the generosity of Pop International Galleries. WHEN: Thurs., May 30th, 6PM - 9PM WHERE: Pop International Galleries 473 West Broadway New York, NY 10012 About Knotty Gal Knotty Gal is the brainchild of social entrepreneurs and mother-daughter duo, Nur-E Gulshan Rahman and Nur-E Farhana Rahman, who sought a creative way to raise funds for a cause near and dear to their hearts- supporting the Bhandari Girls’ School in Bogra, Bangladesh. Designed by the pair and handmade with love by Mama Rahman, the brightly-hued accessories line delivers fashionably good feelings as a portion of the proceeds benefits the school and its predominantly impoverished student population. About Arno Elias Parisian-born Arno Elias is a multi-talented musician, painter and photographer widely known for his compositions of the globally renowned Buddha Bar music.
