The Schlitt Law Firm Announces Paid 2013 Summer Internship and Scholarship

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - May 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Huntington, NY: The Schlitt Law Firm (http://www.schlittlaw.com/) has announced that is sponsoring a paid legal internship position for the summer of 2013. At the completion of the internship, the firm will also provide a $500 college stipend. Carol L. Schlitt explains, “We want to offer a deserving college or graduate student a meaningful summer position where he or she acquires hands-on, meaningful experience and has the opportunity to learn about our business and the legal profession.”

The intern position involves full-time paid work that will run through the summer of 2013. The daily schedule and duration of the internship are flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the selected candidate. At the completion of the internship, the student will receive a $500 stipend toward his or her education.

Ms. Schlitt stated, “We designed this position to support our client services and to provide an introduction to a client-centered law firm. The position requires performance of core clerical functions as well as making contributions to the development of our cases including participating in case conferences and providing research to support cases. We want this position to provide learning opportunities so it will afford opportunities to attend court proceedings and depositions and to learn all aspects of our business.”

Successful candidates must be enrolled full-time in college or graduate school or be recent graduates. The candidate should be bright and curious and able to communicate effectively both when writing and speaking. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidates must be technologically literate and have access to a car for occasional trips to court and client appointments.
