CHEYENNE, Wyo. - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- OutdoorGearLab.com revealed today the results of the 2013 Editors’ Choice Awards for the Men's Ski Jacket category, listing this year’s best and best value. The OutdoorGearLab Review Editors chose the following winners after extensive field testing at Mammoth Mountain, California and the Sierra backcountry. We took nine mens's insulated jackets and put them to head-to-head tests to figure out what was the best in the following categories: warmth, ventilation, water resistance, ski specific features, style and fit, and comfort. We think some of the most important aspects of a ski jacket are that it is warm and water resistant, and that its features make skiing at a resort easier and more comfortable. Even though all the jackets we reviewed were of high quality, we did find that some jacket are more conducive to resort skiing than others. Each underwent extensive side by side tests to evaluate these key performance metrics. View the complete Men's Ski Jacket Review - http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Ski-Jacket-Reviews

The winners:
Patagonia Primo Down Jacket http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Ski-Jacket-Reviews/Patagoni... Winner of our Editor's Choice award for 2013. Though it didn't get the highest score in any particular category, it offers a good combination of capable, durable materials that work well together. It's down core and Gore-Tex laminated shell make it light, warm and efficient. We appreciated all of its nice extra ski features and above average range of motion and under arm ventilation. The price tag may be alarming, but keep in mind that down will last a lot longer than synthetic fill. While improvements could be made to a few details, we were overall very happy with its performance.

Flylo BA Pufffy http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Ski-Jacket-Reviews/Flylow-B... winner of the Top Pick award for 2013. This weather resistant, insulated, well-built, ski and snowboard jacket is styled to function as a bridge between ski resort demographics and the backcountry crowd. Gear Editor, Jediah Porter found it to be  a warm and protective dedicated in-bounds piece, but slightly less warm and weather ready than some of the others tested. Porter reports, "This jacket will compliment your look. It nails versatile styling in a high performance package."

The Columbia Whirlibird Interchange 3-in-1 http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Ski-Jacket-Reviews/Columbia... winner of 2013 Best Buy award. According to Porter, "It's versatile and affordable and was the warmest in our testing  The lining makes and excellent spring layer and the outer shell can be worn in the event of occasional rain, but if you spend a lot of time in your resort jacket take into consideration that this jacket restricts movement as it is a bit bulky."
