Each clinic has committed to raising money for the Arthritis Foundation with a combined goal of $40,000 toward the Houston walk’s fundraising. The 2013 Houston Arthritis Walk is the signature fundraising event for the Arthritis Foundation. Every year, people across the country move together to celebrate those who are making a positive impact on the lives of people living with arthritis. More than just an event, the Houston Arthritis Walk is a celebration of year-round movement. It is building awareness for this debilitating disease and raising necessary funds to drive arthritis research, education and life improvement programs; it also continues the Arthritis Foundation’s search to find a cure to the nation’s leading cause of disability. WHEN: June 1, 2013 Registration & Check-In 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. Pre-Event Program & Fundraising Awards 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. 3 Mile or 1 Mile Walk 8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. BBQ Lunch Provided by the IBEW Local 66 Cookers 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. WHERE: The Quillian Center 10570 Westpark Dr. Houston, TX 77042 DETAILS: The Arthritis Walk®, part of the Let’s Move Together® movement, is the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide signature event to raise public awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. In joining the 2013 walk, participants become part of a nationwide community that encourages people to prevent or treat arthritis through movement. Massage EnvyHouston will have a tent at the Houston walk in addition to providing chair massage to participants.The walk includes a three-mile and one-mile course, plus arthritis information and activities for the entire family.
