Tina Malone gets pregnant at age 50 thanks to UKCFAStar patient Tina Malone gets a positive pregnancy test following egg donation treatment via our clinic UKCFA.
By: UKCFA-UK Cypriot Fertility Association May 19, 2013 - PRLog -- It was roughly eighteen months ago when Tina Malone and her husband first contacted our clinic UKCFA (UK Cypriot Fertility Association)
Egg donation, although a common treatment, is a relatively difficult path to follow through in the UK as there is a significant shortage of donors and donated eggs. Consequently, couples requiring egg donation often travel abroad to countries such as Cyprus to undergo egg donation treatment. The eggs donated are often through anonymous donors, which proved to be a big influence on Tina's decision to have the treatment with the UKCFA clinic in Cyprus (CIC). Tina and her husband decided to choose our clinic based on our unsurpassed pregnancy rates, which is approximately 80% as well as our impressive record on safety and quality of care. We have a direct link with our sister clinic Cyprus IVF Centre (CIC) in Cyprus which enables us access to hundreds of young, fertile and healthy egg donors from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, with a proven record of fertility. Initially, Tina had to delay her treatment after she was declared bankrupt in May 2012. Following this setback, Tina decided to commence her treatment in January 2013. At the time, Tina appeared on This Morning and spoke of her dream to become a mother again, “We start IVF at the end of January so fingers crossed. We're going to give it about six weeks. If it happens, then brilliant.” The first part of Tina's treatment was completed in the UK under the care of Dr. R. Gazvani of The Fertility Clinic (London, Manchester, Liverpool) without any complications. Following this, Tina and her husband travelled to Cyprus to complete their treatment at the Cyprus IVF Centre (CIC) being looked after by the team lead by Dr. H.I. Tekin. Fortunately, treatment in Cyprus was seamless and Tina and her husband had their embryos transferred four days after day arrived and returned to the UK. Today, their two week long wait was over. A pregnancy test carried out live on This Morning (ITV) (http://www.itv.com/ Now we have to wait another three weeks before Tina Malone has her first ultrasound scan examination, at which stage we will hopefully see the fetus and identify a heartbeat or two! End
