By: Memorial Health The Hospital Safety Score was calculated using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. Hospitals across the country were assigned an A, B, C, D, or F for their overall safety. “Ensuring the safety of our patients is a top priority every day. We host an annual safety fair for our Team Members, we use electronic safeguards to prevent medication errors, and we require many hours of annual training and education. Receiving an ‘A’ is a tribute to our hardworking team,” said Maggie Gill, president and CEO of Memorial Health. The Hospital Safety Score analyzes 26 measures to produce a single score that represents a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries, and medical and medication errors.
