Middletown Honda is Anticipating the Arrival of the 2014 Honda Fit

The popular small car receives a new look, new drivetrain, and new features for the 2014 model year.

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - May 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Honda is taking the Honda Fit to a new level for 2014 with sweeping changes to the look, the drivetrain, and its list of features. This should make the 2014 Fit, a member of Car and Driver's “10 Best Cars” list since 2007, an even popular model than it already is. When the Honda is released, drivers will be able to find it among the new car inventory (http://www.middletownhonda.com/new-inventory/) at Middletown Honda in New York.

One of the most important additions Honda is making to the 2014 Fit is a low-speed active braking system. Thanks to its smaller size, the Fit has been a popular model in dense urban environments, where having a more compact vehicle provides drivers easier mobility and parking options. The low-speed active braking system helps drivers to avoid collisions in these busy areas, whether if it’s with another vehicle, a pedestrian, or a structure.

Effective at speeds of 18 mph and under, the system uses a sensor to detect objects in the Fit's path. If the small Honda comes too close, sounds and lights will warn the driver a collision is about to occur. If the driver does not apply the brakes themselves, the system will automatically stop the vehicle.

The system also is able to prevent unintended bursts of acceleration. If the Fit is stopped or traveling at under 6 mph and has another vehicle in front of it, the system will prevent the vehicle from accelerating if the accelerator is accidentally floored.

Despite its small size, the current 2013 Honda Fit (http://www.middletownhonda.com/models/2013-honda-fi/) model has been chosen as a “2013 Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety thanks to its performance in safety tests.
Middletown Honda is located at 520 Route 211, in Middletown, right next to the Gander Mountain. Drivers with any questions about Honda's current lineup, including the 2013 Fit and the future 2014 Honda Fit, are encouraged to contact the dealership (http://www.middletownhonda.com/contact-us/) through their website or by calling (855) 473-3050.
