Allen Turner Hyundai Holding Blood Drive May 17th

The Blood Drive is held in conjunction with the American Red Cross and will take place right at the dealership, at 6000 Pensacola Boulevard.

Across the country, more than 44,000 donations are needed every day to meet the demands for blood transfusions. The Red Cross estimates that every 2 seconds, someone requires a blood donation, making donations imperative to these patients' survival. Just one pint of donated blood has the chance to save up to three lives.

Those with Type O blood are considered universal donors and are especially encouraged to apply. Type O blood is the most requested type by hospitals because of its versatility. Simply giving blood once can tell a donor their blood type, making donating in the future easier.

Donating blood is a safe process. A full medical history is analyzed before the donation, assessing if the interested donor is able to give. Sterile equipment is used and the procedure is carried out by a trained professional.
