SHREWSBURY, U.K. - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- So after a sunny bank holiday at MizEllie we are feeling rather summery and this means that we are of course planning our key summer wardrobes and if you want to update your wardrobe one way could be with chic neck scarves. They are incredibly versatile for the summer months as they can be used as an extra layer for when the weather gets a little colder, they can be worn round the neck for a chic retro look or worn in the hair (silk scarves are perfect for this) or even tied round a handbag. So what key looks should you be channelling this summer?

Florals

OK so Summer and florals do go hand in hand and this season is no different. What's more a number of celebrities have been seen sporting the trend. From Kelly Brook, to MIC's Millie Mackintosh, Gemma Arterton and even the Duchess of Cambridge florals have been a key summer look.  Florals were also a key trend on the spring/summer 2013 catwalks with Dolce & Gabbana, Simone Rocha, Moschino and Erdem all showing off bold floral prints.

What's more it is a great trend to interpret with neck scarves, particularly silk scarves. A scarf in a pretty floral pattern will add a lot to a summer wardrobe.

Butterfly and Flowers £9.00       Sheer Roses Scarf £8.00   Frilly Flowing Scarf £15.00

Monochrome

If florals aren't your thing then why not try one of the other key trends of summer – monochrome. Seen on the likes of Kate Middleton, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, and Naomi Watts monochrome is every where at the moment.  What's more not only was it seen on a number of celebs it is also an incredibly fashion forward look with a number of autumn/winter catwalks so you will be a true fashionista by donning a monochrome silk scarf.

Patterns

When it comes to patterns this summer there are plenty of options to choose from as a number of spring/summer from stripes to chequerboard as well as polka dots there were loads of patterns on display on the catwalks. So you can really go to town with patterns this summer and a perfect way to do that is with neck scarves as you can add a new look without having to go for head to toe patterns.

Animal Print Scarf £8.00          Vintage Lace Stole £21.00

Pastel

OK so pastels for summer isn't exactly revolutionary but it is once again a big look this summer. So much so that the spring/summer 2013 runways Erdem, Christopher Kane, Michael Van Der Ham, Corrie Neilsen, Meadham Kirchhoff, Emilia Wickstead, Mulberry, and later Antonio Marras, Fendi, Ports 1961, Prada, Sonia Rykiel, Viktor & Rolf and Valentino all showcased pastels in various colours.

Pretty pastel colours are the perfect way to add a bit of summer to even the most neutral wardrobe and of course a perfect silk scarf in a lilac, rose pink, spearmint or blue will be a great addition to your wardrobe.
