Follow on Google News | Freeman & Freeman Settle Client Case for Over $1 MillionWhen four passengers of a minivan were severely injured in an automobile accident after a driver lost control and hit them, Freeman & Freeman was hired to represent the victims, effectively settling for over $1 million.
By: Webshark360 Freeman & Freeman’s clients sustained severe injuries, particularly the mother, who suffered a fractured femur, a broken jaw, a fracture in her left shoulder, and spinal injuries. The extent of these injuries made it necessary for her to be treated at Northridge Hospital’s trauma center. The father and two teenage daughters suffered injuries that were less critical and were sent to the UCLA Medical Center for treatment. The driver who was allegedly responsible for the crash was involved with activities with the Doorae Community Movement church during the time of the accident. On her own, she was insured for $300,000, but Freeman & Freeman thoroughly investigated the auto insurance policy that the church held and found that their policy was worth an additional $1 million. There was another passenger riding with the defendant driver, who also pursued a lawsuit against her after having two ear surgeries from the head trauma she sustained. On January 20, 2012, a settlement conference occurred that awarded $1,140,000 to the four clients of Freeman & Freeman. The bulk of the settlement at $1 million, was designated for the mother of the minivan for her injuries. Stan and Steve Freeman, the partners of Freeman & Freeman, were pleased with the settlement amount. In addition, the family had incurred enormous medical bills and the health insurance company had placed a lien on the case for reimbursement. Freeman & Freeman was able to negotiate a major reduction to this lien to give a larger net settlement to their clients. Mr. Steve Freeman commented on the financial advantage of settling the case versus going to trial, stating: “Had the case gone to trial and not settled, the plaintiffs would have incurred enormous costs of bringing in doctors and other experts to testify. This would have greatly diminished the net settlement to each plaintiff. The four clients of Freeman & Freeman received a net settlement well in excess of what a trial would have produced, after paying all the costs. A good settlement will often produce a greater net amount to a plaintiff than going to trial.” All those who have been injured in an automobile accident are encouraged to contact the Law Offices of Freeman & Freeman at their website http://www.freeman- Contact: Freeman & Freeman, LLP Stan Freeman, Partner Steve Freeman, Partner Phone: 1 (818) 992-2919 Fax: 1 (818) 992.2940 http://www.freeman- End
