Big Changes in Management at Novick Brothers Corporation

Novick Brothers, a family-owned foodservice distributor in Philadelphia, has brought in Jay Hobby, managing principal of Hobby Development Grp, as President. Current President Gary Novick shifts to Sr. Advisor overseeing the Novick Family Urban Farm.

PHILADELPHIA - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Novick Brothers Corporation, a leading Mid-Atlantic food service provider in the childcare market, has brought in Jay Hobby as their new President. Jay has an eight year relationship leading Novick Brothers' strategic and management realignment, so it was a natural progression to bring him on in a more official capacity.

"Jay is uniquely qualified to run the company," said Bill Novick, VP of Corporate Initiatives. "Jay's experience guiding companies and leading initiatives as managing partner at Hobby Development Group has allowed Novick Brothers to grow into a leader in our market. He has been the main architect in redesigning our programs and shifting our direction to key areas such as childcare while developing our long range 'life cycle initiative', which really has made an impact in our community."

Former President, Gary Novick, is equally excited about the change in management. "This allows me to shift my focus to aspects of the business I'm passionate about while leaving Jay to do what Jay does best – guiding our company into the future."

Gary, now Senior Advisor at Novick Brothers, will remain firmly involved in the company by overseeing special projects, such as the Novick Brothers Family Urban Farm (http://www.novickbrothers.com/weblog/blog/?p=184).

"This change in management," said Gary, "is an opportunity for us to not only grow, but to give back to the community with such things as our new green initiatives."

"We are shifting from being a food distributor to being a service provider with specialists and team members that really make a day to day difference in our community," said Jay. "We have an amazing group of people here at Novick and they take their roles very seriously.  That's due in part to a strong belief in our childcare mission:  To improve the health of our most vital resource - our children."
