PRLog -- The generosity of Ullswater ‘Steamer’s passengers and local Cumbrian businesses resulted in a total of £606.40 being raised on behalf of the Great North Air Ambulance after a ‘Pomp and Circumstance’
charity cruise on Ullswater.
Ullswater ‘Steamers’
, which organised the cruise, donated the profits from the two-hour sailing, plus the money raised by an on board raffle, to the very worthy charity. The Penrith Town Band played patriotic and nostalgic tunes on board the heritage boat, to make this a spectacular evening on the lake.
Raffle prizes were donated by Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel, the Inn on the Lake, the Peter Sidwell Restaurant@Rheged, Rampsbeck Country House Hotel, Cranstons in Penrith and Lowther Castle and Gardens.
Ullswater ‘Steamers’
marketing manager, Rachel Bell, says: “This was a lovely evening on the lake and I am delighted that we managed to raise so much for the Great North Air Ambulance. The support of local businesses was much appreciated, while our passengers once again proved that they have a tremendous generosity of spirit”.
