By: SDL Solutions

MAIDENHEAD, U.K. - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- SDL (http://www.sdl.com/index-1.html) has today announced that Husqvarna Group (http://www.husqvarna.com/) (SS: HUSQ B), the world's largest producer of outdoor power products, has chosen SDL to support its strategy for global translational services.

Chosen as part of a global strategic sourcing program covering all major business areas and geographies, the SDL solution will allow Husqvarna to communicate with its global customers in over 35 languages, empowering it to increase customer engagement, competitive advantage (http://www.sdl.com/solutions/business-need/driving-growth-with-globally-relevant-products/) and international sales support. The solution will initially cover translation of technical publications, such as Operator’s Manuals and Service Bulletins, and the aim is to reduce time and cost as well as improving the quality and consistency of information published around the world.

“With around half of our Group sales coming from Europe and Asia/Pacific, it’s essential that we have an infrastructure that allows us to engage with these customers in their local language without losing control of our brand. We examined many possible suppliers and chose SDL since they are able to provide an integrated solution built on best-of-breed technology and translation services,” explains Åsa Haglund Ovinder, Technical Publications Manager, Husqvarna Group.

The SDL solution integrates its best-in-class Language Technology SDL WorldServer (http://www.sdl.com/products/sdl-worldserver/)™ and market-leading Language Services (http://www.sdl.com/services/language-services/translation...) to provide a single localization platform for Husqvarna Group. The solution will be managed by SDL’s project team based in Sweden, with localization and in-country review being carried out by SDL’s network of global translation offices (http://www.sdl.com/services/language-services/translation-services.html). The solution has been designed to bring consistency to information published by Husqvarna Group’s distributed authoring centers based in Sweden, Germany, Asia and America, as well as its international and local marketing organizations.

“Delivering a consistent brand experience across multiple geographies is a challenge that we see our customers facing on a daily basis. It is vital that companies achieve the level of engagement needed to grow international market share and increase competitive advantage,” says Allan Hall, VP Sales & Operations - UK & Strategic Accounts, SDL Language Services. “From understanding customer requirements to content creation, management, translation and publishing, SDL provides solutions that help increase global brand awareness and customer engagement. We are proud to support Husqvarna’s continued worldwide growth.”
