Follow on Google News | Fighting To Be Heard:The Lightfighters Release New EPBand's EP "Unheard!" is gaining momentum and breaking new ground
By: I've Gotta Feva Records Aiming for a primal aesthetic, the band sought after a studio using analog tape to achieve the sound reminiscent of early rock luminaries. "Railway Station" stands out as a testament to the legendary Muscle Shoals and Stax recordings. Complete with B3 hammond undertones, rhythmic guitar accents, sultry backing female harmonies, and the emotional intensity and unrestrained preachments of lead male vocalist, Jon Griffin, make this an ode to quintessential soul. "Doors of Perception" fuses Hendrix inspired double-stop guitar work and whimsical phrasings ("I can see paradise but we're going nowhere/You'll be with me when we get there...)" plus an interesting sense of vocal punctuation on the choruses that highlight the arrangement and get the listener moving. "Never Turning Back" is explosive hard rock at it's finest, a psychedelic organ on the bridge leads effortlessly into the controlled chaos that The Who themselves would be proud of. The pulverizing drum beats of Eric Crago, commanding bass lines of Chris Castillo, energized guitar riffs of Mario Cardoso, and dynamic power vocals of Griffin and Savannah Keen give veracity and substance to this electric number. Also of note is the eloquent "Say Your Goodbyes." Equipped with Fleetwood Mac like harmonies, Motown-esque rhythm attacks, and full bodied lead vocal work displaying the numerous influences the band relinquished into each composition . Unheard! is the very definition of where we have been and where we are going musically. An electric symphony exploring tones and textures that will keep audiences yearning for more. The Lightfighters are indeed ready to be heard! The EP is now available on Itunes and many other online stores, you can also contact the band at thelightfighters.com. End
