7Delta, Inc. President and CEO Mike Sawyers Named Maryland Small Business Person of the Year

COLUMBIA, Md. - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Columbia, MD - 7Delta, Inc. is pleased to announce that President and CEO Mike Sawyers was recognized as the Maryland Small Business Person of the Year by the Maryland Small Business Administration (SBA) at an awards ceremony and luncheon on April 19th.

In recognition of the small business community’s contributions to the American economy and society, the President of the United States designates one week each year as National Small Business Week. This year, National Small Business Week is May 20 - 26, 2013. In the run-up to this event, the U.S. SBA, in partnership with public and private small business supporters, will co-sponsor special events honoring the nation’s entrepreneurs at the local, state and national level. State winners like Mr. Sawyers are in the running for further national awards.

During the ceremony, Mr. Sawyers delivered a speech recounting some of the lessons he learned as he faced adversity and encouraged small business owners to work hard to achieve success. He stated, “If you want something in life, you have to work for it. Although I have certainly been lucky along the way, I credit my success to working hard and being prepared to take advantage of opportunities.”
