May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Buying a home is one of the most expensive outlays in most people’s lives so, with this in mind, Peveril Homes is pleased to announce the launch of Help to Buy at its Mickleover development.

At V@Varsity Grange, struggling house-hunters can find support in the new government-backed scheme, which launched last month. Announced during the March Budget, Help to Buy is already bringing a new ray of hope to first-time buyers and those looking for that next step up the housing ladder.

Help to Buy enables those who dream of moving to own 100 per cent of the home with just a five-per-cent deposit up to the value of £600,000. The government will lend up to 20 per cent via an equity loan. This means purchases will only need to secure a mortgage of up to 75 per cent.

The equity loan will be interest free for the first five years, and can be repaid at any time or on the sale of the property. After five years, a modest 1.75-per-cent annual fee is added*.

The scheme is available to anyone, from first-time buyers to second-steppers, and there is no cap on the maximum income, so the dream of moving into a brand-new home is now a reality – without the need for a hefty deposit.

Angela Thomas, sales and marketing manager for Peveril Homes, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer all would-be purchasers in Mickleover the opportunity of Help to Buy.

“The introduction of this scheme clearly demonstrates that the government recognises the need to get people moving in an affordable and realistic way and I believe this scheme will help to do just that.

“The extended house value up to £600k will also play a strong part in people’s interest in the scheme, so there couldn’t be a better time to invest in bricks and mortar and take advantage of this stepping stone.”

As the popularity of V@Varsity continues, there are only a handful of properties remaining. The three-bedroom semi-detached Broadwater, priced at £179,950, would be an ideal family home. The ground floor offers a great living area, with a spacious lounge overlooking the garden, a separate kitchen and dining room and a handy cloakroom. Move upstairs and there is a family bathroom and three bedrooms, the master benefitting from an en suite bathroom.

V@Varsity is located just minutes away from Derby’s bustling city centre, with an excellent range of shops, eateries and a selection of primary and secondary schools. The area also benefits from having the natural beauty of the Peak District on its doorstep, while commuters will find the nearby A38 useful.
