NCHICA Announces Winners of Health IT Innovation Awards

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (May 9, 2013) -- The North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA (http://www.nchica.org/)) announced the winners of the Health IT Innovation Awards at a ceremony on May 7 at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC.

These were the winners in each category:

· Consumer Engagement: Son Information Systems for its fhasesTM EHR/care coordination system

· Informatics & Analytics: M*Modal for its Catalyst for QualityTM health IT analytics software

· Clinical Applications: the Coastal Connect Health Information Exchange and the North Carolina AHEC Program Regional Extension Center (tie)

· Research Applications: Renaissance Computing Institute for its informatics framework that mines genomic data for clinical and research use
