Chrysler Canada Delivers Record Sales for April 2013

The manufacturer sold over 25,000 vehicles, which is a 5% increase over April 2012 sales figures. This month’s increase is a significant milestone for Chrysler, as it marks the company’s 41st consecutive month of increased sales over the previous year and continues the longest sales growth streak in Chrysler history and the longest current streak in the Canadian market.

A significant contributor to the Chrysler Group’s success is their Ram brand of pickup trucks, which also set an all-time April sales record with over 8,000 vehicles sold, compared to just over 6,000 in April of last year. Ram trucks also maintained their position as Canada’s #2 selling vehicle overall, in large part because of the best-in-class fuel economy, torque, and towing capacity that their models provide. The 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn was especially successful and contributed to Ram’s record-breaking sales after earning awards including 2013 North American Truck of the Year, Motor Trend Truck of the Year, and one of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors of 2013.

The Chrysler Town & Country Minivan also saw a record 9% increase in year-over-year sales last month, with 980 total units sold over the previous year’s 900. The family-friendly vehicle has been lauded as one of the most innovative and versatile in its class, and was also named to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s list of “Top Safety Picks” for 2013.  

The Dodge Dart, a new model for 2013, also picked up speed with its highest-ever monthly sales. 1,081 Darts were sold in April, suggesting that Canadian customers are enjoying its mid-size interior, customizable trim and engine options, and high safety ratings.
