Michigan Business & Professional Association, Michigan Food and Beverage Association Hosts Legislat

May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- The Michigan Food and Beverage Association (http://www.michfood.org/) (MFBA) and its sister organization the Michigan Business and Professional Association (http://michbusiness.org/) (MBPA) will host a Legislative Reception in Lansing, Tuesday, May 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Troppo (111 East Michigan Ave.).  

“This annual event provides an informal opportunity for our members to become better acquainted with state lawmakers and to publicly recognize certain state legislators and department heads for championing issues that are important to the small business community,” said Jennifer Kluge, CEO of both organizations. The purpose of the event is to provide the organizations’ members with an opportunity to speak with legislators, staff and department directors about issues of importance to them as small business owners.

Bonnie Bochniak, vice president of Government Relations for MBPA and MFBA, added, “This year we will be honoring State Representative Mike Callton (R-District 87), State Senator Joe Hune (R-District 22) and State Department Director Jaime Clover Adams, Agriculture and Rural Development, for their dedication on issues such as: healthcare reform and updating the state’s food and safety laws.

Bochniak noted that the free reception is also being sponsored by DTE Energy and Pepsi.
