Veterans Benefits Will Be the BEST Mother’s Day Gift.

The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association is hopeful that Veterans can start receiving VA compensation benefits for disabilities caused by Agent Orange dioxin this Mother’s Day or very soon thereafter.

May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association is seeking to present their wives, even mothers, with great news this Mother’s Day. The non-profit group, which is on an aggressive mission to bring awareness to HR-543, says they are closer than ever to obtaining compensation benefits for disabilities caused by Agent Orange dioxin. The group helped inspire HR-543, The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, and it was introduced to the House Floor by Rep. Chris Gibson (D-NY) along with 41 strongly bipartisan initial co-sponsors on February 6, 2013.

“Our group is looking for the support of every American  citizen and our congress to do what is right for those who have served this great country,” said John Rossie, Director of The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association. “We’ve run up against red tape for years.  People who served and survived came home only to lose their lives because benefits are denied over a loophole in the law.  HR-543 rectifies this loophole and will grant benefits to thousands of Veterans who need them.”

The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association is hopeful the VA will make an internal change, allowing Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange to receive immediate health care and financial benefits. “We’re looking at a date around Mother’s Day for an answer. The Veterans Administration has until May 30th, technically, to respond and rectify. If not, we will file a Federal lawsuit,” continued Rossie.

The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association has set up a website, http://bluewaternavy.org/, with on-line Congressional contacts, a documentation library, news of the day corner, editorial and opinions tab, and a specific F.A.Q. section for the Public. John Rossie is available for print and broadcast interview to discuss the denial of benefits, the specifics of HR-543, the Association’s pending lawsuit,  and/or to provide Veterans who are willing to share their stories.
