CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Linda Gallegos, owner of Tamarind Design + Marketing has invested heavily of herself, in her branding and marketing company and is an active networker and marketer, yet credits much of her success and financial stability, to being a part of Colorado’s DBE Program. The Program is administered by The Colorado Department of Tranportation, and required by US Congress for public projects that utilize taxpayer funds. A true believer that the program levels the playing field for small businesses, Gallegos explains how government contracts have made all the difference to her Denver based firm.

Gallegos says, “Tamarind Design + Marketing’s affiliation with the DBE Program has opened up a number of sizable opportunities. Now, after completing work on the Colorado FasTracks Project I’m an enthusiastic supporter of DBE Certification. The program does not guarantee new business; but, it does expand my marketing base, while providing me a valuable ‘leg-up’. There is no doubt, having access to the DBE leads, allows me the opportunity to serve a broader market, while expanding my business.”

The DBE program provides Gallegos access to bid directly on large public projects, and to subcontract services to other Certified DBE Organizations. It is was a subcontractor for local full service marketing and PR firm, Romero & Wilson, that Tamarind was tasked to work on FasTracks. Working alongside Romero & Wilson, Tamarind Design + Marketing was contracted to provide design, branding, marketing, educational and promotional services, for the $2 billion dollar Eagle P3 project.

As the official PR and communications voice of the FasTracks project, Romero & Wilson has been a DBE Certified provider and fan of the Program, for much of its 17 years in business. Company representative, Linda Wilson, agrees with Gallegos on the attributes of the program, adding, “When working in the public sector, the Certified DBE list is a key source for locating knowledgeable, dependable business subcontractors and partners. Our passion is to grow our business, by helping others to elevate and grow theirs.”
