LANSING, Mich. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Later this month, industrial hygiene professionals from across the globe will converge in Montreal to attend the 2013 American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition (AIHce).  Thousands of industrial hygiene and safety professionals will take part in the conference’s events, PDCs and networking opportunities.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) is proud to be an active supporter, exhibitor and participant in this year’s conference.   Since 1960, ABIH, a not-for-profit corporation, has been the world's largest, premier organization for certifying professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene.  Thousands of attending industrial hygiene professionals have earned the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification administered by ABIH.

For ABIH Diplomates and Applicants, this is an ideal time to interact with their peers, learn about the CIH credential, earn CM credits for participation in the AIHce and PDCs, and meet with the staff of the ABIH.  There are several opportunities targeted to ABIH Applicants and Diplomates.

ABIH cordially invites attendees of the AIHce 2013 to the following:
•   The ABIH booth (#600) will be open during the Expo hall hours. Stop by and get all your questions answered.
•   Student Luncheon Discussions, Monday, May 20th, noon-1:30 pm. Informal discussions and Q&A with ABIH Staff.
•   Perspectives of Preparation for the CIH Exam v7.0/RT 236, Wednesday, May 22th, 1:30-4:30 pm. Sponsored by Students and Early Career Professionals Committee (SECPC).
•   ABIH Forum, Wednesday, May 22, 10:00 am – noon. ABIH Directors and the Executive Director will discuss certification topics, answer questions and seek audience input.
•   Need to fulfill your ABIH ethics training requirement? Attendance at one of these two sessions will meet those requirements:
   The Ethics of Workplace Violence – Understanding the Problem and
Creating Solutions, PDC 201, Sunday 8:00 am - noon
   Ethics: Global & Emerging Issues,
Tuesday, May 21st, 2:00-5:00 pm.

“ABIH is looking forward to another successful AIHce conference,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.  “We encourage CIHs, Applicants and interested persons to take advantage of the many opportunities at this event and anyone interested in a career in occupational hygiene is encouraged to talk with the ABIH Staff and learn more about this highly coveted professional certification,” he continued.

ABIH has released a video about the benefits of achieving the CIH that can be viewed at: http://www.abih.org/abih-video
