The Medical College of Wisconsin Awards SA Ignite Meaningful Use Contract

SA Ignite Helps MCOW Ease Providers' Path to EHR Meaningful Use and Facilitates First Medicaid Attestation Utilizing MU Assistant

CHICAGO - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- SA Ignite, Inc., a provider of software solutions that streamlines, automates and tracks the achievement of Meaningful Use (MU) of electronic health records (EHR), and the Medical College of Wisconsin today announced their strategic partnership following successful completion of Meaningful Use attestations to Medicare and Medicaid for payment year 2012.

For 2013, SA Ignite will work with nearly 600 of the Medical College of Wisconsin physicians, who use Epic as its Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Physicians who show “meaningful use” of a certified EHR are eligible for up to $44,000 (Medicare) or approximately $64,000 (Medicaid) in extra payments from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Beginning in 2015, providers who do not attest to MU are subject to financial penalties.

“The Medical College of Wisconsin is an academic medical center with complicated eligibility tracking,” said Tom S. Lee, PhD, CEO and Founder of Chicago-based SA Ignite. “They needed a solution that would allow them to track where providers stood relative to Meaningful Use and streamline the attestation process. We are pleased that SA Ignite’s MU Assistant¨ could be part of the solution and look forward to working with them to further define the eligibility tracking features of MU Assistant.”

MU Assistant®, a cloud-based software solution, automatically aggregates and monitors MU measures across multiple EHR systems and provides decision support tools such as enabling easy selection of 90-day windows (for Medicare Payment Year 1) and suggesting MU exclusions that providers may claim. The MU Assistant then electronically files providers’ data to the CMS attestation web site, providing a one-click attestation process, and electronically archives supporting data for potential audits.

The Medical College of Wisconsin is the first Medicaid site, and the largest Epic customer to-date, to be automated by MU Assistant.
