BRISBANE, Australia - May 5, 2013 - PRLog -- In 2 Adventure are proud to announce the next step in their ongoing partnership with charity Soldier On.  In a new initiative to boost fundraising support, participants at In 2 Adventure events will not only have the satisfaction of fundraising for this fantastic cause, they will now be rewarded for their fundraising efforts.

Simon Lazenby, Director at In 2 Adventure told us, “We are so proud to be partnering with such a worthwhile cause as Soldier On. One of In 2 Adventure's key operating principals is 'Community'. As part of our business we always look for ways that local communities can benefit from our events. For many years the directors of In 2 Adventure were privileged to be a part of the military community and the partnership with Soldier On is our opportunity to give something more back.”

From May 2013 any participant at any In 2 Adventure event can choose to fundraise for Soldier On and as a reward for their fundraising efforts competitors will be rewarded with vouchers that they can cash in at the I2A on line store.  The greater the fundraising efforts the bigger the rewards.

This new initiative forms the fourth pillar in the support for our wounded service men and women which currently includes:

1.      Rehabilitation Program Support: Providing the opportunity for wounded servicemen and women to take part in any I2A event to provide them with the opportunity to incorporate adventurous activities into their rehabilitation program.

2.      Merchandise: Selling Soldier On wrist bands and merchandise at I2A events.

3.      Communication & Education: Offering a platform to share the stories of our wounded servicemen and women to raise awareness of the challenges they face and what we can all do to assist them.

Event Director Robyn Lazenby told us, “When we first found out about Soldier On we were amazed at the lack of support being provided to our young service men and women coming back from contemporary conflicts such as Afghanistan & Iraq. We were also shocked at the nature and the real amount of both physical and mental injuries being sustained in such conflicts.

When the founders of Solder On approached us with the idea of incorporating adventure activities as part of the rehabilitation program for these servicemen & women we were so excited to have the opportunity to contribute, even in this small way.

We recognise that doing what we do and having the opportunity to take part in events such as Mountain Designs Adventure Race Australia and the Tre-X Cross Triathlon Series is a real privilege that not everyone has the opportunity to experience. It’s great for us to have the chance to provide support for those who have given so much to support us.

We also know that a lot of people who take part in our events feel the same way and we are very excited to invite competitors to fundraise as part of our events and also to be able to reward them for their contributions.”

Soldier On and In 2 Adventure believe that Australia has a social responsibility to ensure that our wounded servicemen and women receive world’s best care.  Our support will help Australia’s wounded achieve the same goals and dreams they had prior to their injuries. Soldier On does this by getting the community involved by fundraising for our wounded and using the money support them in a variety of ways. As well as continuing to offer adventurous activities as ways these brave men and women can enhance their rehabilitation, some of the money fundraised and donated will go to St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and The Wesley hospital in Brisbane, both of which directly support the rehabilitation of wounded service personnel. Soldier On also provides support in the form of care packs for the families of those that have been wounded.

This announcement represents the continuation of a strong partnership that exists between Soldier On and In 2 Adventure and we look forward to a brighter future for our injured service men and women thanks to the work of Soldier On.
