The Chevrolet Spark EV is Estimated to go 82 Miles on a Full Charge

Chevy is helping to lead the way in the electric race with some of the market's best vehicle range.

BRADENTON, Fla. - May 4, 2013 - PRLog -- An all-electric version of Chevy's new city car, the 2014 Chevy Spark EV, is estimated to get a range of about 82 miles on a full battery. The EPA estimates that this is about 119 MPGe, the agency's gasoline equivalent for plug-in vehicles. This is exciting news at Cox Chevy in Bradenton, where electrically-powered vehicles like the 2013 Chevrolet Volt (http://www.coxchevy.com/new-inventory/#min_years=2013&_Model=volt&action=im_get_results&perform=get_results&paged=1&_vehicleType%5B%5D=New&orderby=_Price&order=ASC) have been popular with drivers looking to save on their annual fuel costs. Chevy estimates that the Spark EV can save drivers up to $9,000 on fuel costs over a five-year period, and says the car is the most efficient on the market.

According to Pam Fletcher, the executive chief engineer for electrified vehicles for General Motors, the goal of the new 2014 Spark EV was to make a car that was the most efficient electric car. They also tried to make the vehicle fun to drive and succeeded with the 400 lb-ft of torque that can be produced by the electric motor.

The new Chevrolet Spark EV will be available with a DC Fast Charging option shortly after its launch, an industry first. The Fast Charging option allows Spark EV drivers to charge up to 80% of the battery in as little as 20 minutes. Drivers can also complete the charge using a 240 volt set-up, or use the standard 120 volt charge cord.

For many drivers, the 82 mile range is more than enough to make their daily commute. The natural small size of the Spark model also makes it great for navigating and parking in a busy urban area. Despite its small size, the Spark comes with four-doors and has surprised drivers and passengers a like with its ample interior space.
Cox Chevy is located at 2900 Cortez Road West, in Bradenton, Florida just a quarter mile to the west of the Sweetbay Supermarket, and a short drive from many communities around Palmetto, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg. Drivers with questions about the upcoming Chevrolet Spark EV, or any other fuel-efficient Chevy vehicles, should contact Cox Chevy (http://www.coxchevy.com/email-the-cox-family/).
