Follow on Google News | Arthritis symposium set for May 16 at GMHFree event to feature talks by area physicians and physical therapist.

Lamb Sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation, Mid Atlantic Region, the event is scheduled from 12:15 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. in Conference Room A in the Staff Development Office, which is located in the Education Center behind GMH. A free lunch is also included. The symposium is designed to help arthritis patients understand what osteoarthritis is, how it is diagnosed, treatment options for pain management, joint replacement and rehabilitation therapy. Participating physicians include Dr. Lizina Green of Andrews Medical Center, Dr. Patricia Grant of NextStep Pain Management and Dr. Petra Gheraibeh of Bay Orthopaedics. They will be joined by Wendy Grimes, a physical therapist with NextStep, who will discuss rehabilitation after surgery. Green will discuss how osteoarthritis is diagnosed and treated initially; Grant will talk about pain management options, and Gheraibeh will talk about joint replacement options. The symposium will conclude with a question and answer session.
