Boardwalk Open For Business!
DANA POINT, Calif. - May 7, 2013 - PRLog -- “Long Beach Island is open for business…restaurants, accommodations, attractions, and the beaches are ready and waiting for tourists to come visit,” says Curinga. Not to be outdone by their famous colleagues on the Shore region, inns on the Southern Shore and in the Skylands have rallied to recover after the effects of Sandy. Check out these ten inns that are open and ready to pamper guests.

The Sea Gypsy is just a couple of blocks from the beaches, boardwalk, and amusement parks of Wildwood, a vital bird migration stop on the Atlantic Flyway. You can watch the world go by from the Jacuzzi on the front verandah or feed your sweet tooth with cookies from the old-fashioned candy cupboard.

Beach tags are not required on the North Wildwood sandy shores near the Candlelight Inn. Relax on an 1855 sofa in the parlor as you share stories and think about the tales that have been told in years past. All guest rooms have a decanter of sherry for those that enjoy a nightcap after a long day of sightseeing. Ask about discounts for military personnel and stays of four nights or more.

Twin Gables Bed and Breakfast in Cape May serves a three-course breakfast on bone china and afternoon tea is offered with homemade goodies. The resident dogs are eager to show you to a sun-filled guest room with lace curtains, private bathroom, ceiling fan, and air conditioning. The antique East Lake wardrobe in the McCollum Room has been in the house since it was built.

The Sealark Bed and Breakfast is one block from the beach and within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, and miniature golf in downtown Avalon. Room 1 is pet-friendly, Room 2 has a two-person spa tub, and Room 4 has two twin beds making it perfect for friends traveling together. Some rooms boast romantic ocean views.

Brown’s Nostalgia Bed and Breakfast has eight guest rooms in the middle of Ocean City. The inn is filled with historic features including an archway separating the living and dining room that is topped by a stained glass window. The two-and-a-half mile boardwalk is within walking distance and Atlantic City is only six miles away.

Inn the Gardens Bed and Breakfast in Ocean City offers two worlds by being situated in a residential neighborhood near the beach.  A porch, garden patio, and balconies offer many ways to enjoy the outdoors. Check the website for recipes to make their delicious breakfast creations at home. Ask about their wide assortment of specials.

The five guest rooms at the Butterfly Breeze Bed and Breakfast in Ocean City are named for different butterflies. Signature cream scones are a highlight of the family-style breakfast each morning. Vacation with friends and reserve the Swallowtail Suite which has two bedrooms and can sleep up to six people. Visit during the off-season for a thrilling Murder Mystery Weekend.

One of the oldest homes in Cape May, the sun seems to radiate from the front porch of the Bayberry Inn. The innkeepers are area natives and are eager to share suggestions for places to go and things to do. The inn is a showcase for local art with paintings throughout guest and common rooms. With free, onsite parking, guests can park their vehicles and walk to all of the attractions.

The Red Cottage is located on the oldest street in Cape May and was originally built as a summer cottage. Only half-a-block from the beach, most of the guest rooms have private sitting rooms so guests can spread out and relax. The Turret Suite encompasses the entire third floor with two bedrooms and two balconies.

Head to the north part of the state and stay at The Tamaracks Country Villa Bed and Breakfast in Andover. Originally a stone farmhouse, some of the exposed stone walls still exist within this stucco “castle” on five-and-a-half secluded acres. Breakfast made with local and homegrown ingredients is served in front of a 200-year-old fireplace. Use the gas grill to create your own homemade masterpieces in the evening.
