McGrath Lexus Participates in the Seventh Annual Ride Janie Ride Foundation Event

CHICAGO - May 2, 2013 - PRLog -- McGrath Lexus is pleased to announce they have contributed to the Ride Janie Ride Foundation, which works to assist local people fighting cancer through an annual motorcycle ride. This year’s Ride Janie Ride cancer benefit event will be held Sunday, May 5th 2013. All are welcome to register and participate in this great cause.

For the event this year, McGrath Lexus has donated a car detailing gift certificate. There will be an auction and raffle at the event, the proceeds of which will go directly to fight cancer. Eric Hoffman, General Sales Manager of McGrath Lexus, said that “McGrath Lexus is proud to lend our support to such an important cause."

The event begins with a 50 mile ride starting at Fox River HD in St. Charles, Illinois. Entry for the event is $25 for each rider and $15 for any passengers. Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and riders will take off for the Iron Horse Saloon in Lockport at 11:00 a.m. Individuals who would just like to go to the Iron Horse Saloon can go for $20.

At the Iron Horse Saloon, there will be food, drinks, and live music. There will also be raffles, featuring the McGrath Lexus car detailing gift certificate, which will help to raise even more for this cause. Individuals can pre-register for the event by May 3rd with the first 500 people receiving a free t-shirt to commemorate the event.

The Janie surrounding the Ride Janie Ride Foundation is Janie Bawel who, in 2005, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The DuPage county resident’s life was saved thanks to a stem cell transplant in 2007. Her friends, learning of her illness, held a motorcycle ride on May 6, 2007 to help raise funds for her. Seeing the success of the event, Janie and her husband decided to start the Ride Janie Ride Foundation and hold annual events to raise money for others fighting cancer. Over the past six years, they’ve directly helped 16 people fight cancer with the rides.
